An African American from the deep south. Initially, the part time handyman for the Cahills and the same age as Grandfather. After the war he becomes an auto worker. We see him at age seventy throughout as a one man chorus.

An Irish immigrant who has made his fortune in the newspaper business. We see him as a man in his 20′s who ages to 75 in the final act.
