Who?
The Twisted Path Of One Progressive Rocker
There was this kid who worked on a fishing boat off the west coast of Ireland. He was sent to America to study, but sadly, before the story could have a happy ending, that devil music got its hooks into the lad, dashing all his family’s high hopes.
Since then, I think it’s fair to say that I’ve been all over the map as a musician. My first national gigs were with a certain really well-known Twin Cities punk band while filling in on a public radio show that starred some little-known guy named ‘Garrison’. After that I worked with a variety of Motown® artists, lots of Gospel groups and then off to NYC to do Broadway shows such as ‘Annie’ and ‘Grease’. Somewhere in there I even wrote commercial scores (Lorzban: The Proven Way To Increase Crop Yields!) But that’s not what you care about.
In 2000, I decided to do something outrageously middle-aged. But instead of doing the usual (eg. buying a Porsche), I started playing my own music. Now I shuttle back and forth between Dublin, IE and Seattle, WA, making the stuff you are sampling here; staying at only the swankest of Ramada Inns.
In 2009 I started work on the opera Detroit. In addition the albums you see on offer here, I now spend a good deal of my time working on (cough) serious music combining the traditional orchestra with ‘rock’ instruments.
Thanks for stopping by.
PS: For some reason, I will get fairly regular requests to know more about the instruments I play or recording equipment employed. Click here to appease such blatant Gear Lust.
