Sorry to disappoint, but I found out just a few days ago that the initial run of Nice Cuts is long gone, daddie-o. I’m beyond mortified about the whole situation and am doing my best to rectify as quickly as possible. Until then, we’ve disabled those pesky ‘Buy!’ buttons to keep you safe.

If you’ve just ordered, you should’ve already received a refund and an opt-out e-mail to be auto-magically reminded when we’re back in stock. When there is product, you’ll receive an e-mail with a button to re-order.

Now that said, as with other albums, this gives me a unique chance to re-write history as it were. I’ve got one or two ideas on how to augment the CD as a small act of contrition for failing to satisfy. 😀 I may add a new song. Click Throughs

1. The adverts have changed a bit as you may have noticed. I am continuing to expend a certain amount of energy generating various ‘click-throughs’ to get a penny or two whenever y’all go to and fro over the vast InterWeb using my site links as your gateway. One way to think of these is like those product placements one sees now in every TV show and movie. But unlike those, it is very important to me that these be innocuous. The best response I could get to this news is “what are you talking about?” If you aren’t noticing anything different, then, in the immortal words of Emily Litella?

Never mind.

I’m now offering guitar and bass lessons to the few, the proud. As I’ve begun playing out locally again, I’ve become aware of gaps in music instruction with most of the people I work with— regardless of experience. I’m setting aside a few hours a week to work with players who want to bone up on their theory and basic musicianship. And by ‘basic’ I don’t mean ‘beginner’. Basic musicianship is a lot like ‘bodybuilding’—even advanced players often need the occasional refresher when it comes to skills like transposition, ear training, chord substitutions and so on. A lesson or two with the right teacher can shake out the cobwebs and re-invigorate everything from improvisation to learning new tunes to writing to…
