JCHFirst, I got the high-school ready score of Detroit done and sold. And there will be at least a couple of rentals next year. So there’s a enough money to keep going. Which means there is gonna be a new record next year; actually two new records.

I’m extremely sorry to have to report that Gus, mascot and brand identity of this little sideshow passed away yesterday. I’m not 100% sure but I think he was 16ish…

You well know, as much as I blather on about everything from highbrow aesthetics to low cost anaesthetics, I’m not much taken with sharing personal details. But Gus basically was the ‘the brand identity’ so it seems worth a mention.

Gus became that marketing identity in 2003 when I brought him to one of my first house concerts in Vancouver. Most of my nutty ideas are just that. But everyone thought it was cute as hell. And it didn’t hurt that Gus was more charming and better behaved than most people I know. All the little jokes about ‘is he your sidekick?’ seemed to beg the answer, ‘Why yes. Yes he is.’

So it’s been a while since I checked in. As per usual, apologies all round. And as per usual, the reason being, the ongoing health issues. It’s not that I’m doing poorly, it’s just that getting back to the traveling has predictably taken some getting used to. If you ordered spots at the remaining shows you’ll be glad to know that things are going smoothly and I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy what we have cooked up.

I’m finally getting around to editing the live performance footage from back when the band was together (2007) and also the full orchestra performance of Open Your Eyes from 2006. I gotta say I started tearing up a bit when I looked at the responses Sunday morning. A real Sally Field moment. Then I realised my eye infection’s back. So far, it looks like we’ve easily got enough interest for half a dozen shows.
